Man Dies After Being Struck by Falling Metal Bucket
Police are preparing a report for the Coroner following the death of a 36-year-old man in Werribee on Thursday, 12 September.
It is believed the man was using a winch to position a mould for casting at a concrete pole manufacturing plant on Lock Avenue when a metal bucket, which was holding a length of chain, broke free from the top of a gantry and struck him on the head. The incident occurred at around 2 pm, and the man tragically died at the scene.
A crime scene was established as police examined the area. WorkSafe will investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident at the plant, which has been in operation since 2007.
