Man Pays $1652 for Werribee Haircut.


In the last 24 hours the police have issued a total of 168 fines to individuals for breaching the Chief Health Officer directions.

One breach included a man who travelled from Thornbury to his favourite barber in Werribee to get a haircut.

18 of these infringements were issued at vehicle checkpoints where 24,761 vehicles were checked.

There were also 900 spot checks on people at homes, businesses and public places across the state

A man travelled from Melbourne to Ballarat twice to get some fresh air.

A man travelled from Bentleigh East to Sunbury for his favourite take-away food.

Victoria Police fined 10 people who were found celebrating in a short term rental apartment in West Melbourne on Friday, 31 July.

Police received noise complaints and subsequently located ten people in a Dudley Street apartment, two of which were hiding in a bedroom, about 11pm.

All were escorted out of the premises and issued fines for breaching Chief Health Officer directions.

Victoria Police fined five people who were caught partying in a short term rental apartment in Melbourne’s CBD on Friday, 31 July.

Officers located five people inside a Franklin Street apartment about 2am with some attempting to avoid police detection by hiding in a closet.

All were escorted out of the premises and issued fines for breaching Chief Health Officer directions.

Within the 168 fines issued in the last 24 hours, 31 of those were for failing to wear a face covering when leaving home for one of the four approved reasons. Many of these fines were issued to people who had no reason to not be wearing a mask, and refused to accept a mask offered by police or PSOs.
