Laura is a passionate young person dedicated to helping others in the community to feel included and belong. She leads by example with kindness and empathy and makes a difference in people’s lives with compassion and care.
Last month, in October, Laura rode 303km during the Great Cycle Challenge, raising funds to end childhood cancer and save little lives.
Laura volunteers two days a week with Edmund Rice Community and Refugee Services providing support to help children learn, grow and develop in a safe environment.
Laura has raised money for many different charities, from the RSPCA to children with cancer, to RSL War veterans and for people facing housing insecurity through St Vincent De Paul.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Peter Maynard said: “Laura is inspirational, compassionate and such a positive role model. She dedicates her time to help others and her kindness is contagious!”
“Wyndham City thanks and appreciates the contribution Laura has made and continues to make to our community.”
