Helpful Material For All Ages
Wyndham libraries will mark Mental Health Week from 5 to 10 October with special activities, reading lists and wellbeing topics incorporated into regular library sessions.
The program includes a journalling workshop and yoga sessions for children, alongside books and digital resources covering mental health and managing emotions.
For families with toddlers and preschoolers, the libraries have put together a collection of picture books exploring big feelings, worries and resilience.
Older children can access junior non-fiction books covering emotional awareness, mindfulness, resilience and self-care.
There is also a collection of fiction and non-fiction books focused on youth wellbeing, including resources for parents looking for information on supporting teenagers.
Adults can access separate reading recommendations, while library members can find selected eBooks through BorrowBox or access a BingePass through hoopla.
Mental health and wellbeing will also be explored through some of the libraries’ regular sessions during the week.
Residents can drop into their local Wyndham library during Mental Health Week to explore the collections, while those interested in the journalling workshop or children’s yoga can check the library program for participating locations, session times and booking details.
