16-Year-Old Krishank Karthik Missing for Days; CCTV Footage Suggests Intentional Departure

The case of a missing Truganina teenager has taken a troubling turn after revelations that his departure was likely premeditated.

Sixteen-year-old Krishank Karthik, known as ‘Krish’, has been missing since Monday. He left his home in Truganina around 7:45 am, with his family believing he was headed to Suzanne Cory High School. However, apparently Krishank had not attended school for over two weeks. Instead, Krishank travelled to Melbourne’s CBD. CCTV footage captured him leaving home with some clothes and a suitcase.

The exact movements of the teenager remain unclear. Reports indicate that Krishank was seen in North Melbourne on a tram and later at a shop on Swanston Street, where he sold his phone around 1:20 pm. He then disappeared from sight for nearly 24 hours before being spotted at Melbourne Central around 1 pm on Tuesday.

“Krishank has been going from home saying that he was going to school and he hasn’t gone to school,” his aunty Mathangi Akhilesh told 7NEWS  “He comes home at the same time as you come back from school.”

The family was unaware of Krishank’s whereabouts during the two weeks they believed he was at school. “We’ve spoken to his friends, they have been helping us with the investigation, and nothing, nothing unusual,” Ms Akhilesh said. “(It’s) very out of character, Krishank is a family-loving kid.” “We haven’t slept since Monday,” she added.

On Wednesday afternoon, a Victoria Police spokesperson stated: “As the investigation remains active and ongoing, we will not be commenting further at this stage.” Suzanne Cory High School has not responded to media inquiries about whether it notifies parents when a student does not attend school.

Krishank is approximately 177 cm tall and was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, black track pants, black shoes, and black Armani glasses. Anyone with information should contact Werribee Police Station at (03) 9742 9444.
