Tarneit will be receiving a new 24/7 service station with a convenience shop, a convenience restaurant, a gym, seven retail premises and a childcare centre as well as a shared car park of 81 spaces and a landscaped site.
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal approved the development plan for 842 Sayers Road, Tarneit in a final order dated 24th of May.
The convenience restaurant, retail premises and gymnasium will be able to operate 6am to 12midnight seven days a week.
The childcare centre will operate 6.30am to 8pm Monday to Friday with capacity for 120 children.
The development features contemporary buildings, vehicle access (including a new private road) that connects to the surrounding street network.
Although the development is a car dominated environment, urban designer Ms A Roberts said that with landscaping, including a provision of canopy trees throughout, it has been successfully managed and that the service station is one of the nicest looking designs she has seen.
