Emergency services were called to the scene of a collision between a car and a motorbike rider on Alfred Road in Werribee at around 5.30pm today (2nd April).
The male motorbike rider was injured in the incident, although the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
The collision caused fuel to leak onto the road, and fire fighters were sent to the scene to help contain the spill and clear the road. Paramedics were also in attendance, and were treating the rider for his injuries, he was transported to hospital.
The road is currently closed while emergency services work to clear the scene.
The area has been declared a crime scene, and the incident’s cause is still under investigation.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes until further notice.
