A man has been arrested following an extensive Air Wing follow throughout Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
The Air Wing observed a motorcycle travelling in excess of 200km/h on the Melton Highway at Melton about 3.30pm on Thursday, 19 January.
The motorcycle was seen to travel on the wrong side of the road as it consistently overtook vehicles at excessive speed.
The rider then took the motorcycle off road in an effort to evade police before he was ultimately arrested in Presidents Park at Wyndham Vale about 4.20pm.
A 21-year-old Melton man is currently assisting investigators with their enquiries.
Checks have revealed he is currently on an expired Learner’s permit.
