Shocking CCTV footage has emerged, capturing a collision in Hoppers Crossing on the 7th of July. The incident unfolded near the intersection of Derrimut Road and Gabo Street, just before 5 pm. The footage reveals the moment when a vehicle and a motorcycle collided, shedding light on the events leading up to the crash.
According to the available information, the motorcyclist was traveling north along Derrimut Road when the collision occurred. The footage clearly shows a grey Ford Ranger, attempting to make a right turn from Gabo Street, colliding with the motorcycle. Witnesses at the scene and the driver of the Ford Ranger rushed to the aid of the injured rider.
Witnesses say that the traffic had stopped on Derrimut Road to allow the driver to make the turn when the motorbike rider who was lane splitting crashed into the vehicle.
The ambulance took approximately one hour to arrive.
Witnesses at the scene assisting the rider reported that the ambulance arrived around an hour later. The rider, a 22-year-old man, suffered lower body injuries that are reported to be non-life-threatening. Once the ambulance arrived, he was promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.
Fortunately, the driver of the Ford, a 40-year-old woman from Hoppers Crossing, emerged from the collision unharmed.
