States Highest NDIS Actions
The City of Wyndham has recorded the highest concentration of National Disability Insurance Scheme regulatory action of any local government area in Victoria, according to analysis of enforcement data published by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
The data includes regulatory action taken against both registered NDIS providers and individual NDIS workersoperating in the area.
Postcode 3029, which covers Tarneit, Truganina and Hoppers Crossing, recorded 31 regulatory actions, the highest total of any postcode in Victoria.
Neighbouring postcode 3030, covering Werribee and Point Cook, recorded a further 21 regulatory actions, ranking third highest statewide.
Together, the two Wyndham postcodes account for 52 enforcement actions, placing the municipality well ahead of any other council area in the state.
The actions recorded include compliance notices, banning orders, suspensions and revocations of registration, and refusals to re-register providers or workers under the NDIS.
Across Victoria, most postcodes recorded fewer than 15 regulatory actions. By comparison, postcode 3029 recorded more than double the number seen in many metropolitan areas, while 3030 also ranked among the highest statewide.
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission uses enforcement powers where providers or workers fail to meet required standards, or where participant safety and wellbeing are identified as concerns. Banning orders and registration revocations represent the strongest regulatory actions available to the national watchdog.
While the Commission does not publish enforcement data by local government area, postcode-level analysis indicates Wyndham is currently the most concentrated hotspot for NDIS regulatory intervention in Victoria.
Wyndham City Council does not regulate NDIS providers or workers, with all compliance and enforcement responsibilities resting with the national regulator.
