Interactive Play Space for Dogs
Alcock Road Reserve in Truganina has added a new feature to its amenities: a dog off-leash park. Completed at a cost of $450,000, the park provides a large fenced lawn area featuring double gates to ensure the safety of pets. It also includes a drink fountain and an active zone equipped with agility equipment for dogs.
The park is designed to be a convenient and enjoyable space for both pets and their owners. It comes complete with a dog bag dispenser and bin, landscaping, bench seating, and a new concrete path that links into the network of existing paths.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, lauded the new addition to the Alcock Road Reserve. “This interactive new space gives Truganina dog owners more choice when taking their beloved pooches out to play, and is sure to become a haven for residents and their pets alike,” Cr Shaw said.
The city is dedicated to ensuring that all residents have access to dog off-leash spaces within their local neighbourhoods. Another dog off-leash park is nearing completion at Cambridge Reserve in Hoppers Crossing.

Bemin Ward Councillor Preet Singh also spoke highly of the new dog park at Alcock Road Reserve. “The Alcock Road Reserve dog off-leash park will have your dog barking in delight – providing them with the perfect space to play, exercise and socialise,” he said.
The new dog park aligns with the Wyndham Dog Off-Leash Plan 2022 and Wyndham’s Open Space Strategy 2045, which are dedicated to providing accessible and well-connected open spaces for families and their pets.
Wyndham City will be hosting an opening event for the community and their dogs at the Alcock Road Reserve dog off-leash park on Saturday 21 June from 10am to 1pm. More details will be released soon.
