New Inclusive Play Space Opens

Woodville Park

In short:

Woodville Park in Hoppers Crossing has reopened following an $845,000 accessibility-focused upgrade featuring Wyndham’s first wheelchair-accessible We-Go Swing and a range of inclusive play equipment.

Accessibility Prioritised at Park

Woodville Park in Hoppers Crossing has reopened following an $845,000 upgrade focused on accessibility and inclusive play, delivering a range of new features designed for children and families of all abilities.

The centrepiece of the upgrade is Wyndham’s first We-Go Swing, an unfenced wheelchair-accessible swing that allows children using mobility aids to play alongside others in a more open and integrated setting.

The upgraded play space also includes a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round and trampoline, a new swing set and a variety of additional play elements aimed at creating a more inclusive recreational space for the community.

Rubber soft-fall surfacing has been installed throughout the playground to improve accessibility, comfort and safety for park users of different ages and mobility levels.

The wider upgrade includes a new picnic shelter, accessible BBQ, additional picnic seating, an upgraded timber boardwalk and a new drinking fountain.

A new public toilet is also scheduled to be installed during the second half of 2026 as part of the broader improvement works.

The project forms part of the Woodville Place Plan and the Help Woodville Thrive initiative, with the final design shaped through community consultation and feedback gathered during the planning process.
