Exciting Retail Hub to Offer Convenience and Variety for Tarneit Residents
Exciting news is on the horizon for residents of Tarneit, as a brand-new shopping centre is set to become the heart of the vibrant community within Frasers Property Australia’s The Grove. The retail hub, which promises to be a one-stop destination for shopping, dining, and services, will feature Woolworths as its anchoring supermarket tenant.
The Grove retail centre, divided into two sections by Bethany Rd, will seamlessly connect shoppers and visitors through a pedestrian crossing and a picturesque reserve. This development is a significant step forward in providing the local community with enhanced convenience and access to essential services.
The retail section of the centre will boast a spacious 4,000 sqm Woolworths supermarket, offering a wide range of groceries and products. Additionally, it will house more than 20 retail outlets spanning another 4,000 sqm of space, including a bakery, greengrocer, nail bar, pizza restaurant, Chemist Warehouse outlet, and an Anytime Fitness gym. Shoppers will have the luxury of choice and variety all in one place.
Across Bethany Rd, facing the retail precinct, a learn-to-swim school featuring a 25-meter pool will cater to the aquatic needs of the community. Other amenities in the vicinity will include a Hungry Jacks fast food outlet, a service station, and a car wash, offering both convenience and leisure options.
To accommodate the anticipated influx of shoppers, the retail precinct will provide 260 parking spaces, with an additional 60 spaces allocated to service the swim school and neighbouring tenants. Commuters will also find ease in reaching the centre, as bus stops on either side of Bethany Rd will connect directly to the Tarneit and Werribee railway stations, ensuring seamless transportation access.
Construction of this exciting new development is scheduled to commence in mid-2024, with an estimated completion time frame of two years. Sarah Bloom, General Manager Development Victoria at Frasers Property Australia, emphasized the significance of this project within The Grove community, stating, “The Grove residents already enjoy easy access to schools, parks, playgrounds, and wetlands within their community, and now the final piece of the convenience puzzle will slot into place with this new retail precinct.”
Empire Properties, the developer behind this venture, acquired the adjacent site from Frasers Property in 2020 and will oversee the construction and management of the shopping center. Empire Properties founder Tony Masalkovski expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We know the residents of The Grove have been eagerly awaiting their new shopping zone, and we’re excited to get started on delivering what will be the heart of this great community.”
Nestled between the Werribee River and Davis Creek, The Grove spans a vast 167 hectares and will eventually be home to 2,600 families. As of today, over 1,600 people have already made The Grove their home. The community offers a diverse range of housing options, including land, house-and-land packages, and townhomes, with more than 75 percent of the properties already sold.
The Grove is a community designed with a focus on green spaces and family-friendly amenities, with many parks, bike paths, playgrounds, and wetlands already complete, including 7 hectares of waterways. The newly opened Karwan Primary School has welcomed students for its first term this year, and a new secondary school is on track to open for the first term next year, ensuring that The Grove continues to be a desirable and thriving place to call home.
As construction is set to begin in the coming years, The Grove’s new retail center, anchored by Woolworths, is poised to become a central hub for Tarneit residents, offering a wide range of shopping, dining, and recreational options. It represents another milestone in the ongoing growth and development of this vibrant Melbourne community.
