Wyndham Residents have been calling for answers to the growing number of Covid 19 cases at the Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre.

Today, Centre Manager, Patricia Gardiner released a statement to the community.

The statement is as follows:

As you may be aware, during the past week we have received notification of five cases of COVID-19 amongst retail staff members at Pacific Werribee. We understand our community’s concern, so I wanted to take a moment to personally reassure you of our strict adherence to Victorian Department of Human and Health Services (DHHS) advice in managing this situation and our operational response.

Firstly, it can’t be overstated how seriously we take our responsibility in helping keep our community safe, and we are continuing to treat notifications of this kind with the utmost importance. Working closely with each tenant involved and adhering to DHHS advice, our response to each notification was swift, appropriate and responsible.

In response to the quickly evolving situation impacting our local area, we have made the proactive and cautious decision to increase our already strong response procedures.

We have increased the number of cleaning staff working within the Centre at any one time, ensuring high-touch points, including amenities and frequently visited areas, are cleaned and disinfected constantly. We are also undertaking regular deep cleans of our amenities with high-grade disinfectant. We are closely following guidelines set by the Federal Government, implementing their Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection for COVID-19 Principles in all our cleaning processes.

You can count on us to do everything we can to help keep our environment and our community safe.

We are in regular contact with DHHS and will continue to be guided by them in our ongoing response to this evolving situation. If you have any questions about the COVID-19 situation, please contact DHHS via their 24-hour dedicated hotline on 1800 675 398.

In line with Victorian Government directives, as a provider of necessary goods and services, Pacific Werribee remains open and trading, playing an essential role in our community by providing convenient access to amenities our community consider necessary including, food, groceries, supplies, household items, clothing and banking.

Our thoughts remain firmly with our community. Please stay safe and continue to follow the advice of the authorities to stop the spread of COVID-19. We are right here with you.

With all that said, on behalf of our entire team, and all our valued retail partners, we sincerely look forward to serving you when you next choose to visit us.

Kind regards,
Patricia Gardiner
