Wyndham City’s free Park Lounge event is set to return to Kelly Park this summer on Saturday 4 February 2023 as part of Melbourne’s annual Midsumma Festival.
Celebrating queer culture and expression, Park Lounge will feature a fabulous line-up of LGBTQIA+ performances including dance, music, comedy and theatre, hosted by Tristan Meecham and Bec Reid of All the Queens Men.
Wyndham City’s Creative City portfolio holder Cr Marcel Mahfoud said that the event had become a much-loved feature on Wyndham City’s annual event calendar.
“Park Lounge is an inclusive, fun and family-friendly event that creates a real buzz in our city centre each year.”
“The new line-up will feature comedian Geraldine Hickey, performances from The Huxleys, Arcoiris Dance Group, and Pride of Footscray’s iconic DRAG Bingo.”
“As the sun goes down, there will also a terrific line up of live music, dance and DJ tunes with Sullivan, Clara Fable, Tanzer, The People of Cabaret and Miss Katalyna.”
“Since the event began as a rainbow family picnic back in 2012, we’re very proud to see how it’s grown, 10 years on, into a wonderful celebration of LGBTQIA+ visibility and diversity,” Cr Mahfoud said.
“This summer make sure you put Park Lounge in your diary and enjoy what promises to be an incredible night of entertainment.”
Grab some dinner from the food truck, enjoy an ice-cream or purchase an alcoholic beverage from the licensed bar, find a spot and settle in for what promises to be an incredible night of entertainment. This event is family and dog friendly.
