49-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized with Serious Injuries; Police Investigate Circumstances of the Accident.

Emergency services responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Old Geelong Road in Hoppers Crossing late this morning.

At approximately 11:35 am, a grey Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by a 38-year-old man from Tarneit, collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, identified as a 49-year-old woman from Rockbank, sustained an upper-body injury in the accident.

Paramedics, including a team from the Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA), were dispatched to the scene around 11:30 am. They provided immediate medical assistance to the injured woman, stabilizing her condition before transporting her to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. According to an ambulance service spokesperson, she is in serious but stable condition and her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, undergoing a breath test as part of standard procedure. He was not injured in the incident.

Victoria Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the collision. Officers are appealing for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward to assist with the inquiry.
