A Point Cook man who never checks his TattsLotto tickets has received the surprise of a lifetime after discovering he won more than $2.2 million in the weekend’s draw.
The unsuspecting winner held one of nine division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4583, drawn on 21 June 2025. Each division one winner scored $2,222,222.23.
An official from The Lott contacted the man to deliver the life-changing news.
“Oh okay, wow!” he laughed when told the result.
“I had no idea. I never check my ticket! I never look at it, I just have a subscription running every week. This is quite the surprise!
“I heard my phone ring earlier while I was enjoying a coffee, but I didn’t feel like answering it. Later, when I checked my phone and emails, I saw that The Lott had been trying to contact me.
“I just said, ‘Why the hell is The Lott ringing me?’. I was walking around in circles for ages thinking about it, and then I went to work.
“It’s so unbelievable!
“I’ll spend about $200,000 of it and then invest the rest.
“Thank you very much for the phone call!”
The man had purchased his System 7 entry via The Lott app, the official platform for Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4583 were 6, 24, 10, 42, 1 and 30, with supplementary numbers 18 and 16.
Nationally, nine entries shared the division one prize — two each from Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, and Western Australia, and one from Queensland.
So far in 2025, there have been 213 division one winners, including 85 Tatts customers. In 2024, TattsLotto created 149 new millionaires and awarded more than $400 million in total division one prize money.
