At Featherbrook P-9 College in Point Cook, 32 primary school students were treated by paramedics after a swarm of wasps descended on the campus yesterday 15th of February at around 11.30am.
Three of these students were hospitalized – two at Werribee Mercy Hospital and one at Western Health Sunshine – in stable condition.
In response to the incident, the school enacted its safety protocols, keeping students inside as several students were stung by a swarm of wasps on the school grounds.
Students were kept away from the affected area, while pest controllers were contacted to prevent future occurrences of this nature.
An email sent to families by Principal Kerry Clayton confirmed the school’s response to the situation.
