Jamieson Way Gets a Boost

Stage two of the Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve expansion in Point Cook is now complete, delivering a major upgrade to one of the suburb’s key sporting and community hubs.

The second stage adds a new indoor multisport venue, a netball pavilion with two new outdoor netball courts, landscaped open space, a playground, BBQ facilities with supporting amenities and a new car park.

The indoor venue provides year-round space for basketball, netball and other court-based sports, increasing capacity for local clubs and social competition.

The additional outdoor courts expand training and match opportunities, while the playground and BBQ areas create new spaces for families to gather outside of organised sport.

These works build on stage one of the project, completed in 2025, which delivered a third kindergarten room, new multipurpose meeting spaces, upgraded staff facilities, maternal and child health consulting rooms, a new reception area and a community kitchen.

Together, the two stages significantly increase the centre’s ability to host early years programs, community meetings, health services and recreational activities in one location.

The full expansion cost $16.1 million. Of that, $2.6 million was funded through the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund and $2.75 million through the Building Blocks program, with the remaining funding provided by Council.

Point Cook continues to experience strong population growth, and the upgraded precinct is expected to support increasing demand for junior sport, kinder places, maternal and child health services and community programs.

The Jamieson Way Community Centre and Reserve is now open, with the new facilities available for use by clubs, service providers and local families.
