This stateoftheart facility features diamond fencing, a batting cage structure, and a meticulously crafted baseball clay surface, making it a significant addition to the reserve‘s $5.6 million revamp.

In addition, a playground, ninja warrior course, exercise area, landscaping, and car park were opened to the public in late 2022, providing an array of recreational options for the community. The newly completed facilities are now available for informal use by the local community, as well as for formal hire.

Organized baseball and softball club activities are also set to commence in preparation for the upcoming summer season of 2023/24. Furthermore, a modular sporting pavilion, specifically designed to cater to the needs of the baseball and softball field, is currently in the design phase and is expected to be completed by late 2023, along with associated landscaping.

Councillor Peter Maynard, the portfolio holder for Wyndham City‘s Active City, expressed his excitement at the progress being made at Brookdale Road Reserve. He highlighted that this latest addition to the reserve will serve as a venue for both established and new sporting clubs and organizations, offering topnotch facilities for training and competition.

Cr Maynard emphasized that Wyndham City had extensively consulted with the community to understand their desires for the reserve, and the resounding feedback was the need for a variety of open spaces where people can engage in healthy activities and foster community connections.

I‘m proud to say we‘re delivering on this mandate and providing Point Cook‘s burgeoning population with outstanding sporting and recreational facilities,” stated Cr Maynard.

He further emphasized that the reserve is also environmentally conscious, with energyefficient LED sports ground lighting and an automated irrigation system that utilizes recycled water.
