Police were astounded after coming across a vehicle in such bad shape it was barely drivable in Lara on Monday.
The vehicle was observed travelling on Patullos Road just after 3.30am on 31 October.
Police intercepted the car, which had been driven from Manor Lakes.
The 27-year-old man has had the car impounded at a cost of $1134 and his licence was immediately suspended.
He has been charged with drive whilst suspended, drive unregistered and fail to have interlock.
The Lara man has been bailed to appear at Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 16 November.
The impound formed part of Operation Furlong which ran state-wide from 12:01am Friday 28 October to 11:15pm Tuesday 1 November.
