Detectives from Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the disappearance of missing Hoppers Crossing man Selman (Sam) Mala.
The 37-year-old was last seen by family members on 28 June, 2000 at his Westmeadows Lane address.
Sam was picked up by a vehicle, believed to be a 1978 – 1982 Ford Fairlane, by two unkkonwn males and two unknown females.
He had all of his belongings and told family he was moving to Adeliade to live, in a bid to avoid an upcoming court appearance.
Sam has not been heard of or seen since that day and there are no known possible sightings.
Family members reported Sam missing in 2004. Originally believing he had moved to Adelaide, after a number of years of no contact they grew increaslingly concerned.
Sam is is decribed as being 178cm tall with a thin build, short brown hair and green eyes.
He was last seen wearing a brown coloured jumper and grey track suit pants with a white strip.
Since 2004 Victoria Police has made a numerous appeals for information in relation to Sam’s dissapearence however he is yet to be located.
Detective Senior Constable Paul Stokes says the family are hoping for answers
“Sam has been missing for over twenty years and we are very keen to speak with anyone who knew or associated with Sam at the time of his disappearence, so we can finally give the family some answers.”
Anyone who may have information in relation to his whereabout could help us give Sam’s family the answers they need.
Detectives have re-released an image of Sam, in the hope someone may recognise him and provide information regarding his whereabouts or in relation to his disappearence.
