Police were called to a store on Greens Road at around 11:20 am after reports of groceries being stolen. The suspects fled the scene in a silver Honda hatchback before officers located and arrested them a short time later in Nicholson Close, Werribee.
A search of the vehicle uncovered drug paraphernalia, a baseball bat, and other weapons. The two men, aged 24 and 25, both from Hoppers Crossing, were detained at the scene.
As police carried out their investigation, a local cat named “Alley” wandered over, seemingly curious about the commotion. Officers completed their search before transporting the suspects to the police station, where they are currently being interviewed.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
