CCTV captures wild moment
A dramatic police takedown in Werribee was caught on CCTV as officers rammed a stolen Mazda wagon, leading to the arrest of five people.

The incident occurred just after 8:30am on Sunday, 25 May, on Kalindi Street, where the stolen vehicle was intercepted during an attempted escape. The offenders tried to flee by turning into a residential driveway, but police vehicles closed in from all directions.
In a split-second move, one police unit rammed the Mazda to stop it from getting away, leaving both the stolen car and the police vehicle visibly damaged.
As officers moved in to detain the suspects, one person fled on foot, prompting an aerial search supported by the Victoria Police Air Wing. The individual was located shortly after and arrested.
All five people were taken into custody at the scene. Both the damaged police vehicle and the stolen Mazda were later towed away.
Police have confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
