The Melbourne East Neighbourhood Policing Team is asking for help in relation to an affray that occurred at Federation Square late last month.
On the 29th of January, a Khalistan Referendum event was taking place when two separate fights broke out.
During these fights, numerous victims sustained physical injuries when flag poles were used as weapons. Two of the victims were treated for lacerations to the head and a hand injury respectively, with the rest requiring medical assistance.
Additionally, a group of men were seen burning an Indian flag. Police arrived on the scene quickly and used OC spray to separate the men involved in the second altercation.
Two men were arrested on the day and investigations are continuing to identify the remaining individuals. In an effort to do so, police have released images of six suspects they believe may have information that could help.
