Tarneit’s $14 million Polly Parade Reserve is now fully complete following the opening of its central pavilion. The reserve includes new sporting facilities for soccer, cricket and tennis, along with community recreation spaces.
Clubs and Group Set to Benefit
Tarneit’s newest sports reserve is now fully complete, with Wyndham City officially opening Polly Parade Reserve following the completion of a new central pavilion.
The $14 million project was delivered across two stages and includes soccer and cricket fields, tennis courts, cricket practice nets, a playground, walking paths, sports lighting, barbecue and picnic areas, fencing, landscaping and irrigation.
The final stage features a centrally located pavilion with six female-friendly changerooms servicing the reserve’s soccer, cricket and tennis facilities.
The pavilion is now being used by Tarneit North Cricket Club and Tarneit North Football Club.
Hoppers Crossing Tennis Club will also temporarily operate from the reserve while courts at its home venue are rebuilt.
Wyndham City says planning for the long-term use of the tennis facilities at Polly Parade Reserve is expected to begin in 2027.
The reserve was officially opened on 21 July by Wyndham City Deputy Mayor Jasmine Hill and Tarneit MP Dylan Wight.
“We want to ensure Wyndham remains a liveable City where our residents have access to the facilities they need, near where they live,” Cr Hill said.
“Polly Parade Reserve is a great example of this, providing the Tarneit community first-class sporting facilities to help them connect, get involved and be active.”
“The completion of the pavilion is the final piece of the puzzle, providing modern amenities that will support local sporting clubs for many years to come.”
The reserve received $750,000 in Victorian Government funding and forms part of the Tarneit North Community Precinct Master Plan alongside the Bembit Bag-rook Community Centre, which opened in 2022.
