Tarneit Sporting Boost
Construction is complete on stage one of Polly Parade Reserve in Tarneit, marking a key milestone for the $19.1 million Wyndham City project.
Stage one delivers multiple sporting and recreational facilities, including soccer and cricket fields, tennis courts, cricket practice nets and a children’s playground.
The site also includes shared pathways, sports lighting, BBQ and picnic areas, fencing, landscaping and irrigation infrastructure.
Construction is continuing on a centrally located pavilion designed to service soccer, cricket and tennis clubs using the reserve.
The pavilion is expected to be completed in early-2026, while the full active open space component of the reserve is scheduled for completion by mid-2025.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Josh Gilligan said Council has allocated $20.8 million for open space projects and $23.1 million for new and upgraded sports facilities in the 2025/26 budget.
“Polly Parade Reserve will complement the adjacent Bembit Bag-rook Community Centre, which opened in 2022,” Cr Gilligan said.
The project has received $750,000 in funding from the Victorian Government.
