Pop-up rink brings winter magic.
Melbourne’s winter season is set to become more exciting as Wyndham City introduces its newest pop-up ice skating rink in Werribee. This first-of-its-kind winter attraction will be set up in the Wyndham Cultural Centre Car Park, located in the heart of Werribee City Centre.

The all-weather, fully enclosed pop-up rink will be open for ten days during the winter school holidays, from 4 to 13 July. The introduction of this new attraction will replace the city’s traditional Winter Street Party this year.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Mia Shaw expressed her enthusiasm for the new pop-up rink, stating it would offer affordable winter fun for all ages. “We’re excited to be able to refresh our winter program this year with a new family-friendly activity,” Shaw said. “There’ll be fun themed skating sessions, DJ tunes and delicious winter fare on offer from local businesses.”
Mayor Shaw also highlighted the positive impact the pop-up rink would have on local businesses. “Winter is traditionally a quiet time for local businesses and the pop-up ice skating rink will draw thousands of people into our city centre,” she said. “It’s a fantastic way for us to extend visitation and boost trade in the midst of winter.”
The pop-up rink aims to attract visitors not only to the ice skating rink but also to the Wyndham Cultural Centre and Wyndham Art Gallery, which are set to reopen. The rink will operate from 10.30am to 8.30pm, providing opportunities for local businesses to benefit from both daytime and evening trading hours.
Bookings for the Werribee pop-up ice skating rink will open in June. Tickets, including skate hire and learn-to-skate equipment, are priced at $5 for children, $10 for adults, and $25 for a family of four. Information and updates about ticket releases and winter programs can be accessed at www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/iceskate.
The opening night of the Werribee Pop-Up Ice Skating Rink will be on Friday, 4 July, from 4.30pm to 8.30pm, and it will continue until Sunday, 13 July.
