As Victoria’s Covid-19 spike increases, Sanctuary Lakes Resort has just been advised that the Quest Apartments have been confirmed as a quarantine hub.
The Apartments are situated on Greg Norman Drive, Point Cook, as part of the Sanctuary Lakes Estate.
Sanctuary Lakes Resort have issued a statement on their FB page saying:
There is no cause for alarm but we are letting you know so you can continue to take the necessary safety precautions for yourself and your family.
People who are to be placed in the hotel are not to leave and will NOT have access to the Recreation Club or Tennis Courts. We have suspended all cards allocated to the Quest apartments. Quest Sanctuary Lakes is an independently run and managed business.
If you have any queries regarding what isolation/quarantine is please go to the DHHS website: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/self-quarantine-coronavirus-cov….
Some residents have reacted to the decision which has sparked social media outrage on the resort’s FB page.
They also updated the post to say :
Sanctuary Lakes Resort Services could only confirm this matter this morning, we are just as surprised at this as you are.
We felt it was very important to advise residents of this matter as soon we became aware.
Lastly, we would like to make it absolutely clear that SLRS has nothing to do with this arrangements nor would we have ever agreed to allow something like this to take place within our resort if we had the legal authority.
All of your queries are valid and warranted however they should be directed to the relevant authority being DHHS or the Covid hotline, the experts in this matter.
Our understanding of quarantine means returned travellers not necessarily confirmed cases.
