Explore Military Displays and Tours at RAAF Base Point Cook’s Free Open Day on 01 September 2024
RAAF Base Point Cook is set to welcome the public for its 2024 Base Community Open Day on Sunday, 01 September 2024, from 10 am to 3 pm. This free community event provides a unique opportunity to explore military aircraft and equipment, and interact with Defence personnel from both RAAF Base Point Cook and the nearby RAAF Williams – Laverton base.
Visitors can look forward to a range of activities, including interactive flying and static aircraft displays, performances by the Air Force and Army Bands, and guided tours of the base’s historic memorials. However, due to crowd management and service requirements, entry tickets must be secured here prior to the event, as tickets will not be available on the day.
Throughout the day, attendees will have access to food stalls, free water refills, shaded seating areas, and other amenities. While personal food and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed, BBQs and drones are strictly prohibited, and the event will maintain a non-smoking policy.
It is important to note that most food vendors will operate on a card-only basis, while merchandise from the Base Squadrons will primarily be cash-only. Additionally, there will be no ATMs available on site. Visitors should also be aware that the limited number of interactive flying displays by No. 100 Squadron are subject to weather conditions and operational requirements.
