Young Families Terrified as Assault Occurs in Their Street.

Police are investigating a report of an assault in Tarneit on 1 November.

Police have been told an altercation occurred between unknown offenders on Mulholland Drive at about 1.30am, which resulted in damage to parked cars nearby.

Voices were heard on CCTV footage yelling “Run! Run! Don’t let him move, don’t let him move!” then a car is heard revving loudly before crashing in to a parked car on the street.

Two men then exit the vehicle and start fighting in the street, one of the men yelling, “What do you want? What do you want? You want money?”.

One of the men appears to be holding a large knife or machete. Within seconds another car is seen driving into the men fighting and appears to knock one of them down. The vehicle stops at the scene.

Two more males exit the second vehicle and approach the scene, another male walks into the fight from the street as well.

One of the men is heard yelling “Where’s my f*****g phone? Where’s my money?”

One male manages to run from the scene and is chased by another male who appears to be wearing a helmet and carrying a machete. The pursuer then returns to the scene of the crash and the remaining 4 men leave in the second vehicle.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after.

A resident said, “It’s an area with young families and it’s very hard to feel safe. It’s a constant nuisance; what can we do to reduce such incidents?”

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
