Payroll errors have been identified that have impacted some Officeworks team members, both current and former.
According to a confidential letter provided by a former local Werribee employee, the unintentional errors were attributed to incorrect system configuration, as well as incorrect manual applications of terms and conditions in the payroll software.
Managing Director of Wesfarmers, Rob Scott, stated in the company’s half-yearly review for 2020 that extensive reviews of their respective payroll systems and processes, had led to the payroll errors being identified.
Back in 2019 a payroll review by the Wesfarmers Industrial & Safety business (WIS) also identified errors in the payment of team members at Blackwoods, Workwear Group, Coregas, and Greencap, which prompted a comprehensive remediation process.
Wesfarmers is working closely with the Fair Work Ombudsman to ensure the individual pay issues are finalised, and the system, governance, and processes are improved.
