Buyers have accused the developer of failing to deliver on key aspects of Werribee's Riverwalk Estate project.

Riverwalk Estate, a much-anticipated project by Development Victoria in Werribee, has been met with contrasting opinions from buyers who have expressed their disappointment with the development. Despite the initial promises made by the developer, buyers are claiming that the project has failed to deliver on several key aspects.

The top priorities identified by buyers when considering purchasing land at Riverwalk Estate were recently shared by Estate Manager Frank. These included convenient access to public transport, proximity to educational institutions, and the presence of nearby parks and green spaces. However, comments on Facebook tell a different story.

One dissatisfied buyer, Daniel Johnson, raised concerns about the developer’s commitment to fulfilling the original plans. Johnson questioned whether all developers make false promises, citing a case where a large commercial zone was initially promised but later reduced by 50% for shops and a sports oval yet to be delivered.

Adam Graham, who bought a property in 2017, echoed Johnson’s sentiments. Graham pointed out that the promised “future sports and recreation reserve” was still nonexistent since it was first mentioned. Additionally, the anticipated shopping centre, which was supposed to be completed by 2022, had not materialized either.

Other local areas have had similar issues.

Craig Jardine, another resident who moved into the estate in 2015, expressed frustration over the delayed development of the “coming soon” Sports Park. Jardine further criticized the shrinking size of the shopping centre in comparison to the original plans.

These discontented buyers believe that the promises made by the developer have not been fulfilled. The lack of progress on the proposed amenities, such as the sports park and shopping centre, has left them disillusioned and frustrated. The reduction in the size of the commercial zone and the absence of the “town centre” as initially envisioned have only fueled their disappointment.

As these comments on Facebook indicate, the dissatisfaction among Riverwalk Estate buyers is evident. They are seeking answers from the developer, questioning whether the project will ever live up to its original promises. The contrast between what buyers expected and what has been delivered so far has created a rift between their expectations and the reality on the ground.

Developers Victoria has yet to respond to the specific concerns raised by these buyers, but they may be prompted to address the issue in order to rebuild trust and provide clarity on the future of the project. The discontent expressed by the buyers serves as a reminder for developers to prioritize transparency and timely delivery to ensure a positive experience for all stakeholders involved in such large-scale residential projects.
