Parwan Rollover Claims Second Child’s Life

A second child has died following a devastating rollover in Parwan yesterday afternoon.

An 11-year-old boy died in hospital overnight after being airlifted in a critical condition following the single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Nerowie and Parwan-Exford roads.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before 4pm on Tuesday, where an eight-seater 4WD carrying a 34-year-old woman and seven children had rolled, coming to rest on grass between the road and a paddock.

Paramedics desperately worked to save a seven-year-old girl, but she died at the scene.

The 11-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries, but police confirmed this morning he died overnight.

Five other children were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 34-year-old female driver was also taken to hospital for observation.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, has CCTV or dashcam footage, or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
