Shoppers screamed in horror this evening when a youth accompanied by two others started attacking another youth at Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre with what appeared to be a large knife.
The three youths appear to be approaching the victim when suddenly one of the youths believed to be carrying a knife lunges at him slashing with the object.
Police were called to the shopping complex on Heaths Road in Hoppers Crossing after reports of a group of youths fighting.
On attendance police located the teenage boy with a laceration to his hand. He has been taken to hospital for treatment. There have been no arrests and the other youths are still at large.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
