A troubling incident that occurred in the early hours of October 31 is under investigation by the police in Tarneit. Several males, reportedly armed with a firearm, a hammer, and bladed weapons, entered a residence on Mintarra Road at approximately 5:45 am.
Once inside, a female occupant was subjected to an assault, and a gunshot was discharged into the ceiling. As a result of the attack, a 45-year-old woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of upper body injuries, while a 20-year-old woman received minor injuries and was attended to by paramedics.
Fortunately, four other women present in the house during the incident were unharmed. The assailants subsequently fled the scene in a blue Volkswagen hatchback. Later on, a burnt-out blue Volkswagen was discovered on Fishbone Avenue in Werribee, and the authorities suspect it to be the same vehicle used in the Tarneit incident.
The police believe that this incident was a targeted attack. Anyone who may have witnessed the events or possesses information pertinent to this case is strongly encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report through www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
