South Australian Man Arrested in South Brisbane After Alleged Carjackings in Werribee, Little River, and Point Cook

Despite a cross-state journey from Victoria through South Australia and New South Wales, a 32-year-old's alleged crime spree is halted by police in a South Brisbane hotel.

Queensland Police Service officers have apprehended a 32-year-old man from South Australia in connection with a series of alleged carjackings and attempted carjackings in the Werribee area at the end of last month.

The incidents, marked by aggravated actions, took place on Wednesday, May 29, in Werribee, Little River, and Point Cook.

Detectives from the Hamilton Crime Investigation Unit and the Armed Crime Squad collaborated closely with South Australian and Queensland police to track the man as he travelled from Victoria through South Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland.

Yesterday 6th of June in the morning, the 32-year-old was arrested at a hotel in South Brisbane.

In the coming days, members of the Hamilton CIU will travel to Brisbane to request the man’s extradition to Victoria.
