State Rose & Garden Show Returns to its Blooming Best

State Rose and Garden Show

Wyndham City Mayor Cr Peter Maynard said that this year’s event, at the Victoria State Rose Garden, would offer something for the whole family.

“As well as enjoying the Victoria State Rose Garden in full bloom, visitors will be able to pick up tips from gardening experts, browse the plant and gardening stalls and relax in the grounds with live music and a range of delicious dining options.”

Wyndham City’s Creative City portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud, said that the program would feature a range of opportunities for green thumbs and gardening novices alike.

“Visitors will be able to learn what to grow and how to do it with a terrific stage line-up of gardening experts including Melissa King from ‘Better Homes & Gardens’, Millie Ross from ‘Gardening Australia’, Vasili Kanidiadis of ‘Vasili’s Garden’ and local horticulturist and author, Craig Castree.

“Free hands-on workshops will cover everything from permaculture, seedling care and beekeeping to making posies, nature art for kids and even learning how to paint a rose.”

The Victoria State Rose Garden Supporters will be hosting guided tours of the garden and families can also enjoy the new All Green Children’s Garden – featuring a sensory garden and sandpits for the kids.

For the first time the State Rose & Garden Show will also feature pop up floral installations from some of Melbourne’s most talented florists including Rebecca Noble’s LLB Florals and XX Flos by Kayla Moon.

Presented by Wyndham City Council, the show is free for all ages. A gold coin donation is encouraged to assist the Victorian State Rose Garden Supporters with their upkeep of the garden.
