Stolen Cars, Police Cars Damaged, Seven Arrests.

Police have arrested seven people after two stolen cars were seen in Wildwood Place, Tarneit about 5pm.

Officers cordoned off the area and two police cars drove in to intercept an allegedly stolen Mazda and Range Rover. Both vehicles drove off on police arrival and hit police cars.

The driver of the Mazda lost control and crashed into a creek. One male is seen attempting the exit the vehicle while it is still moving, knocking him to the ground, he gets up and continues to run from the scene.

The Range Rover attempted to drive out of the street but stopped after colliding with a police car.

The seven males all jumped from the cars and fled the scene. 

Police searched the area and located the seven teens, aged between 14 and 19 who were arrested and interviewed.

A 16-year-old from Wyndham Vale and 19-year-old from Truganina were charged with theft of motor vehicle and will face a children’s court where police will make a remand application.

An 18-year-old from Truganina and a 17-year-old from Tarneit were charged with theft of motor vehicle, endanger emergency services worker and others and will face a children’s court for a remand application.

A 16-year-old from Tarneit was charged with two counts of theft of motor vehicle and will face a children’s court for a remand application.

Two 14-year-olds from Truganina were charged with theft of motor vehicle and bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Multiple police vehicles, officers, detectives and onlookers filled the usually quiet street. Detectives gathered evidence from the stolen vehicles and the damaged cars were all towed from the scene.
