Police are investigating after a stolen Mercedes E-Class led officers on a two-hour pursuit across multiple suburbs before being found in Point Cook early Friday morning.
Officers were first notified of the vehicle being driven in Tarneit about 11.30pm on 23 October. Both ground units and the Air Wing were involved in tracking the vehicle through Tarneit, Werribee and Hoppers Crossing before it continued onto the West Gate Freeway toward the city, where it evaded police around 1.30am.

The Mercedes was later located stationary at the intersection of Bluffview Terrace and Modra Street in Point Cook about 2.50am. Officers attended and found the vehicle unoccupied.
Police believe the car was stolen during an aggravated burglary in Tarneit earlier that same day.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
