The victim assisted the police in tracking down the vehicle’s location, leading to the engagement of the Air Wing.
The stolen Mercedes was spotted from the air, traveling in a convoy with a Nissan Patrol, believed to be stolen as well. The vehicles were seen moving through Corio, Norlane, Little River, and Lara. Police successfully utilized stop sticks to halt the vehicles along Sandy Creek Road, near the You Yangs Regional Park. Two of the culprits abandoned the Nissan and joined the others in the Mercedes.
Despite driving on damaged rims, the Mercedes continued its journey through Corio and North Geelong until it finally stopped on Cabernet Road in Corio. The four occupants – a 16-year-old girl, a 23-year-old man, and a 15-year-old boy and girl – were all arrested. The youths, who hail from Geelong, Hampton Park, Little River, and Melton, are set to be interviewed by the police.
The Nissan Patrol is suspected to have been stolen from a gym on Hall Road in Carrum Downs the previous day. The investigation is ongoing.
