The males, from Werribee and Manor Lakes, were arrested on Thursday, 27 March, after allegedly fleeing police on stolen motor scooters. Police attempted to intercept the pair on Heaths Road just after 3pm.
Air Wing tracked their movements as they dumped one scooter on Morris Road and continued riding together on the other. The second scooter was later dumped in the carpark at Pacific Werribee and recovered by police.
The pair then allegedly entered the shopping centre, stole clothing, and changed outfits in an attempt to avoid detection.
Police moved in around 3.45pm. One male was brought down in a dramatic takedown at the entrance to Big W. The other, seen smiling as he exited the store, later became aggressive toward officers.
Both were taken into custody and have since been interviewed by police. They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 28 July.
