Join the Excitement at Wyndham Harbour - A Summer of Youth Activities!
Summer is fast approaching, and the Wyndham Street Surfer Bus is set to deliver a variety of exciting, free summertime activities and events tailored for young people aged between 12 and 25 at Wyndham Harbour.
From November 2023 to April 2024, you can expect monthly free events hosted by the Street Surfer Bus at Wyndham Harbour. This innovative mobile youth information service boasts features such as WiFi, music, gaming consoles, art supplies, sports equipment like a mobile basketball hoop and soccer goals, as well as five LCD screens and an outdoor LCD screen for gaming and movies.
The Street Surfer Bus offers a safe and welcoming space for young individuals to relax or engage in a diverse range of activities, spanning from recreational to educational experiences. The friendly Youth Services team will be on-site and available for casual conversations, as well as providing valuable information, advice, support, and referrals.
Kicking off the “Summer at Harbour Sessions” is a relaxing event, featuring a dedicated Yoga Session on Saturday, November 11, from 10.30 am to 11.15 am, followed by a Mindfulness Session from 11.30 am to 12 noon. You can stretch your body and calm your mind during this yoga and mindfulness session held on the picnic lawn, in front of The Elements, with a scenic city view as your backdrop.
If you have a passion for the environment and nature, don’t miss the opportunity to learn about local waterways and wildlife on Saturday, December 16, from 2 pm to 3 pm. Join in an interactive workshop organized by the Werribee River Association and delve into the incredible marine ecosystem of Port Phillip Bay.
For those with a creative spark, a Young Artists activity is scheduled for Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 10 am to 12 noon. Wyndham Harbour’s natural beauty will inspire you to craft artwork using modeling clay.
Mark your calendar for an Outdoor Movie Night on Saturday, February 3, from 7 pm to 9.15 pm. Bring your snacks, cushions, and your loved ones to secure your preferred spot ahead of time for a delightful movie night.
Looking for some summertime fun? On Saturday, March 2, from 10 am to 12 noon, you can join in Beach Volleyball games. The Huddle and Wyndham Youth Services are teaming up to deliver exciting volleyball matches on the lawn. Come along and enjoy!
The Summer at the Harbour activities culminate on Saturday, April 6, with the Game Zone from 3 pm to 6 pm. Join in the gaming fun by playing the latest Nintendo Switch and PS5 games on the Street Surfer Bus. Board games and other activities will also be available for a fun-filled afternoon at the Harbour.
