On May 13th, the Point Cook Football Club, led by club president Ivo Havard, will host the first-ever Wyndham Health Cup against the Werribee Districts.
This event is being held to recognize and support the Wyndham Health Foundation, a local charity that donates 100% of raised funds to support public hospitals and health care services within Wyndham.
Havard stated, “Wyndham Health does an amazing job for the Wyndham Community, and it is only natural that Wyndham’s local football rivals face off for the honor of holding the Wyndham Health Cup.”
The day will start with U18s at 9.50am, followed by Reserves at 12.00pm, and Senior matches at 2.15pm. The event will also feature a PCFC Sponsor Appreciation lunch, where club sponsors will have the chance to hear from Club President, Senior Coaches, Clay Smith from PCFC and Chris Gilham from Werribee Districts.
The winning team from each division will be presented with silverware at the end of the game and will enjoy bragging rights for the next 12 months.
Wyndham Health Cup Ambassadors and Senior Captains, Nick Buykx from PCFC and Daniel Schibeci from Werribee Districts, are leading the way by inspiring other players, friends, and family members to help raise funds for vital equipment to support patient care in Wyndham.
“The boys and I are getting behind the Wyndham Health Cup, and we think you all should too,” said Nick in a recent promotional video for the event.
The focus of the inaugural Wyndham Cup is to purchase one of three Pediatric Cots for the Mother and Baby Unit at our local public hospital.
Leanne Down, CEO of Wyndham Health Foundation and 2023 Wyndham Citizen of the Year, said, “It is humbling to see the community come together for each other in so many ways. Community supporting our Wyndham Clubs, Clubs joining forces, and everyone coming together to support our Health Services. It’s a true testament as to why Wyndham is a fantastic place to live. We are grateful for the support that is giving to us so that we can support our local region with ensuring the highest level of patient care possible.”
Members of the community are invited to come along and enjoy all three games being played at Saltwater Reserve and are encouraged to support either club and make a donation today at https://bit.ly/PCFootballClub or https://bit.ly/WerribeeDistricts.
