Firefighters were called to McCormack Crescent just before 6:30pm, where they arrived to find a single-storey, four-bedroom brick veneer home engulfed in flames. The rear of the property was fully ablaze, with thick smoke and flames billowing into the air.

Crews quickly escalated the alarm, calling in additional units and firefighting appliances to battle the intense blaze. Despite the ferocity of the fire, it was brought under control within 15 minutes of arrival.

A search of the property was conducted once conditions allowed, and no one was located inside the home at the time of the fire.

The incident is being treated as suspicious, with Victoria Police now leading the investigation. A neighbour has told authorities they witnessed a male allegedly setting the home alight shortly before the fire took hold.
