An investigation is underway following a house fire on Saturday, 23 July at Mount Cottrell.
Emergency services responded to a fire in a vacant house at approximately 9.35pm on Troups Road South and Boundary Road.
When firefighters arrived they found a weatherboard house fully engulfed in flames.
FRV and CFA firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, tackled the fire, which was declared under control at 10:27 p.m.
Although firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, the house was destroyed as a result.
The incident did not result in any injuries.
Several firefighters remained on the scene to finish off any hotspots that might have developed.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing, anyone with information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
