Workshop Targeted Again Overnight
Police are investigating a suspicious workshop fire that tore through Top G’s car detailing on Railway Avenue in Werribee in the early hours of Christmas morning, marking the latest incident in what is becoming a deeply concerning pattern along the industrial strip.
Emergency services were called to the blaze at about 3.15am on 25 December, after multiple reports of a large fire at the premises. Police have confirmed that no one was inside the building at the time, and there were no injuries reported.

Firefighters arrived within six minutes to find the 10-metre by 20-metre steel workshop fully involved. Crews worked aggressively from both the ground and aerial appliances, containing the fire to the single building and extinguishing flames that had spread into the roof space. The incident was brought under control by 4.17am.
Both police and fire authorities have deemed the fire suspicious, with investigators now working to determine how the blaze was ignited.
The Christmas Day fire is not an isolated event. In October 2024, the same warehouse was damaged in another suspicious blaze shortly after midnight. That earlier fire produced thick smoke and bright flames visible across the area, prompting numerous Triple Zero calls from alarmed residents.
VIDEO: The same workshop was damaged in a previous suspicious blaze.
The fire was believed to have started externally at the rear of the business before spreading rapidly, forcing crews to breach the front of the building to gain access. No injuries were reported, but the structure sustained significant damage.
More recently, the same block of warehouses again came under scrutiny on 20 November 2025, when shots were fired into a Werribee workshop — a separate but alarming incident that heightened concerns about targeted activity in the area.
Police are now examining whether the incidents are linked, with investigators reviewing CCTV and dashcam footage from nearby businesses and roads. Detectives are urging anyone who was in the Railway Avenue area around the time of the Christmas morning fire — or who has any information at all — to come forward.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers .
