Feedback Will Inform Council Programs

Wyndham residents are being asked what they want from council programs designed to help make homes more energy efficient and sustainable.

Wyndham City has opened its Sustainable Home and Lifestyle Survey, with feedback to be used to update existing programs and identify the topics residents are most interested in.

The council has run household sustainability programs for the past 12 years, covering gardening, food growing and household energy use.

Existing initiatives include My Smart Garden, which provides information on growing fruit and vegetables and creating native habitats, as well as activities including food swaps.

The Wyndham Seed Library provides free seed packets through local libraries for residents to grow native plants, fruit and vegetables.

Council also runs its Energy Smart Home program, which provides tips on improving heating and cooling efficiency and reducing reliance on electricity and gas.

Feedback from the survey will be used to determine what information, programs and support residents want around sustainable living in Wyndham.

Residents who complete the survey before 30 November will also go into a draw to win sustainable lifestyle prizes.

The survey is available here through Wyndham City’s The Loop website, with residents able to provide feedback on the sustainable home and lifestyle topics they would like covered in future.
