Police raid in Tarneit uncovers firearms and cocaine stash
A 37-year-old Tarneit man with alleged links to an outlaw motorcycle gang was arrested on 8 October 2025 after police executed a search warrant.
Westgate Divisional Response Unit officers charged the man with being a prohibited person in possession of two firearms, one of which was stolen from New South Wales. He was also charged with trafficking cocaine and methylamphetamine, possession of steroids, and failing to properly secure firearms and ammunition.
The man was remanded in custody.
The arrest comes amid a broader crackdown on outlaw motorcycle gang activity across Victoria and nationally. In September, police arrested four patched members of the Bandidos and seized 47 illicit firearms and several 3D printers allegedly used to manufacture weapons.
In recent months, authorities have also targeted the Mongols OMCG as part of a coordinated “day of action” under Taskforce Morpheus, resulting in nine arrests and multiple drug and firearm seizures.
Victoria has introduced stronger measures to disrupt gang activity, including new laws banning public display of gang insignia and expanding police powers to impose serious crime prevention orders.
These developments form part of the state’s intensified effort to dismantle organised crime networks and reduce the influence of OMCGs in local communities.
