Science, Serenity and Artistic Taste

An immersive new exhibition at Wyndham Art Gallery is inviting visitors to explore the changing relationship between people, technology and the environment through contemporary art.

LANDSCAPES : TECHNOLOGIES : BODIES is now showing until 1 July, bringing together spatial moving image works by Justin Enrico Legaspi, Yandell Walton, Rebecca Najdowski, K-Ella.Verell + BSOD, and Melania Jack and Patty Preece.

The free exhibition features immersive installations, moving image, sound and digital artworks examining ecology, technology, memory and systems of consumption.

Visitors can experience works exploring environmental collapse, industrial extraction, digital surveillance, migration, identity and the increasingly blurred boundaries between humans, machines and the natural world.

Across the gallery, landscapes, archives, technologies and bodies are presented as interconnected systems that are constantly changing through adaptation, erosion and regeneration.

Highlights include artworks examining endangered wetlands affected by longwall mining, the climate crisis through non-human perspectives, the impact of artificial intelligence on identity, and the hidden relationship between domestic life, labour and technology.

The exhibition also showcases local talent, including Werribee-based Filipino-Australian artist Justin Enrico Legaspi, whose animated work reflects on family, migration and cultural identity.

It is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 3pm on weekends at Wyndham Art Gallery, 177 Watton Street, Werribee. Entry is free and the exhibition runs until 1 July.
